After graduating in 1975 from Reading University, UK, with an honours degree in Applied Linguistics, he taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at the National Institute of Applied Sciences (INSA) at Mont Saint Aignan University, France.
In 1987, he left teaching to set up HTT (www.htt.fr), a translation company specialising in high technology, in order to finance the European Translation Network Administration project (ETNA).
In 1998, he designed and developed the Inttranet™ (www.inttra.net), the world's first multilingual portal to offer a complete range of interoperable features for professional interpreters and translators.
HTT obtained ISO 9001 certification (BVQI, version 2000) in 2001 as part of the Inttranet™ project.
In 2002, he designed Terminall™ , an ISO 12616-compliant omnilingual terminology database for use by professional interpreters and translators.
He designed Inttranews in 2004, and acts as chief editor for the English version of the web site.
He is currently Director General of the Inttranet, Chairman and Managing Director of HTT, and continues to work as a conference interpreter and technical translator.
Malcolm Duff lives in the country near Rouen with his wife, family and dog.
