Oklahoma, USA (NewsOK): According to 2000 census data, 188,035 Oklahomans older than 18 reported speaking a language other than English at home, with Spanish by far the most-common language. Of non-English speakers, 22 percent indicated they spoke English poorly or not at all. […] Translation services are few, and they largely cater to government and corporate clients. Oklahoma lags behind Dallas by two decades in terms of its resources for non-English speakers, former immigrant Beatriz Myer said, adding: “We have to really get more translation services."
