Pennsylvania to standardize qualifications for courtroom interpreters
|
Pennsylvania, USA (PTR): The state Senate unanimously approved a bill that would standardize qualifications for courtroom interpreters of foreign languages and interpreters for the deaf. The measure has been sent to Gov. Ed Rendell for his signature. The bill, sponsored by State. Sen. Jay Costa, D-Forrest Hills, would create a statewide system of uniform certification for courtroom translators.
