  Oregon: request for interpretation funding refused
Oregon, USA (KGW): Over the past five years, the costs of providing interpreters in Oregon courts have been soaring. Today, the Oregon Judicial Department asked legislators for an extra one-point-seven (M) million dollars to help defray the costs. But the legislative committee that decides on emergency funding denied the request. They say it's not enough of a crisis to merit more money.
