  Report: Arabic skills a key weakness in U.S.
Texas, USA (AAS): Despite efforts in the last few years to increase the number of Arabic speakers in the nation’s defense and intelligence agencies, the Iraq Study Group’s report released Wednesday carried a sobering fact: Of the 1,000 staff serving in the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, only 33 speak Arabic — and only 6 of those fluently.
