Need for sign language interpreters outpacing supply
|
Minnesota, USA (MPR): The Minnesota Disability Law Center is trying to get counties to provide sign language interpreters one lawsuit at a time. Last May the center sued Morrison County for failing to provide an interpreter for a deaf man in jail and in court. The case settled. In August, the center was able to force five St. Cloud area driving schools to provide sign language interpreters. The need for sign language interpreters is outpacing supply.
