Korean translation efforts recognised by Czech Republic
|
Seoul, Republic of Korea (K Times): Czech Ambassador to South Korea Tomas Smetanka awarded a Czech government medal to three Koreans for their contributions to Seoul- Prague relations at his residence on Friday. The Silver Medals of the Czech Foreign Ministry were given to Kang Wha-ja, president of Beseto Opera; Kim Kyung-ock, a translator of Czech literature; and Shin Hyun-hun, CEO of Vertigo Publishers. “Opera, book translation and publishing have been selected this year as areas of cultural interaction between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Korea that deserve special appreciation,” Smetanka said.
