  A day in the life of… Yoke Kennedy
Ontario, Canada (W Record): Yoke Kennedy doesn't really think of herself as an interpreter. She's more of a "language machine." It's a term that helps Kennedy, a Chinese interpreter for the Kitchener-Waterloo Multicultural Centre, deal with some of the horrors she hears from victims of domestic violence. "For them, it's the first time they have a voice to speak out in their situations," said Kennedy, who has been interpreting for the agency for about five years.
