A day in the life of… Dalia Lucio
|
Virginia, USA (SSJR): Dalia Lucio splits her work time between Virginia and Beardstown, helping Spanish-speaking residents navigate the health-care system. The 20-year-old Jacksonville resident is an interpreter and translator for the Cass County Health Department. But she is paid primarily through Americorps, a federal, state and local service program that enlists volunteers - called "members" - to help non-profit groups tackle educational, public safety, health and environmental needs.
