| California, USA (NBC): Communicating in Iraq may get easier, thanks to a new device.
The portable machines would let English-speaking soldiers carry on conversations with Iraqis in Arabic. Not everyone is convinced the devices will be a cure-all, however. Some of the machines are designed to translate spoken English or Iraqi Arabic in real time. They work through a speaker mounted on a laptop computer or a small portable device.
