Oregon, USA (OL): Houzan is not the real name of the 24-year-old woman who has spent the last two weeks exclaiming about Oregon's green landscape, orderly streets and abundant varieties of food. In Baghdad, she translated for the U.S. military. That work put her and her family in danger, which is why, even today in Oregon, she asks not to have her name published. Many translators who worked for the Army in Iraq spoke longingly of America. "Take me with you," they sometimes pleaded with soldiers, seeking to escape the war. Few succeed.
