Turkey: authors and translators are the real victims of Article 301
|
 Istanbul, Turkey (TDN): Turkish Bar Association (TBB) President Özdemir Özok yesterday called on 18 NGOs to prepare a proposal to change Article 301. […] However, some NGOs criticized the TBB for excluding those adversely affected by the article and for working behind closed doors. Tuncay Birkan, from the Union of Translators, told the Turkish Daily News yesterday that authors and translators are among the real victims but their associations have not been offered a role in the process. “[Article] 301 must be abolished,” he said.
