  Canadian government to fund the protection of traditional Aboriginal languages
Manitoba, Canada (CFP): The federal government will be funding the protection of traditional Aboriginal languages in the Yukon, after the recent unveiling of an agreement. Beverley J. Oda, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Status of Women, Jim Prentice, Minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and Federal Interlocutor for Métis and Non-Status Indians, met with Dennis Fentie, Premier of the Yukon Territory last week to announce the signing of the 20062007 Canada Yukon Cooperation Agreement for Aboriginal Languages.
