  Prodi under fire for sacrificing Afghan translator
Rome, Italy (Independent): The Italian government has come under bitter attack over its attitude towards hostages after the interpreter for Daniele Mastrogiacomo, the La Repubblica foreign correspondent freed a fortnight ago, was decapitated by the Taliban. Mastrogiacomo, his interpreter Ajmal Naqshbandi and their driver Saeed Nagha were captured in Helmand Province in Afghanistan on 5 March.
